Karolina Mikołajczyk

Karolina Mikołajczyk, a prize winner of many violin and chamber music competitions, Doctor of Arts. In 2017, she graduated with honours from the Frederic Chopin University of Music in Warsaw having studied alongside professor Andrzej Gębski, as well as Janusz Wawrowski, Agata Szymczewska and Maria Machowska. She also studied at Hochschule fur Musik und Tanz in Cologne in the master class of Zakhar Bron and his assistants, Mikhail Ovrutski and Mikhail Nodelman. She honed her skills while attending courses provided by such prominent violinists as Konstanty Andrzej Kulka, Wolfgang Marschner and Ingolf Turban.

 

She is a prize-winning laureate of competitions in Lublin, Paris, Pula, Poznań and Salzburg, a stipendist of the Młoda Polska programme, and a recipient of scholarships from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Ministry of Higher Education, as well as a holder of the Music School Deans’ Award and the Polish Society of Authors and Composers Special Award.

 

She is very active as a soloist and a chamber musician, and has performed in numerous renowned concert halls such as the National Philharmonic, Carnegie Hall, Guangzhou Opera House in Canton, Den Norske Opera & Ballet in Oslo, the Star Performing Arts Center in Singapore, the Redutowe Rooms of the Great Theatre – National Opera, the Podkarpacie Philharmonic and the Lublin Philharmonic.

 

She gave concerts in musical ensembles ranging from duet to octet together with Zakhar Bron, Soyoung Yoon, Orion String Trio, Janusz Wawrowski, Ingolf Turban, Michał Bryła, S.B.A Uszyński and Atom String Quartet. She has a vast track record of World Premieres of new music. Since 2013 she has won awards as a member of Karolina Mikołajczyk & Iwo Jedynecki Duo having given concerts in numerous countries of Europe, Asia and in the USA, and having performed at festivals in Poland, Switzerland, Georgia, Vietnam and Italy. In 2016, the Duo released their debut album Premiere, which received an outstanding response from critics.
